I don't actually have a giraffe. ):

I don't feel like typing in coherent paragraphs today, so here goes:
  • I am aching all over, thanks to PE. Back, arms, calves, stomach, you name it. My ribs hurt too, for that matter.
  • Once again, I spent too much money on food. Damn you, Marche, for being so yummy. It was Crystal's first time at Marche :)
  • Saw Crystal's luvah~ after walking up to a group of HC people in my full school uniform to find her.
  • Bought A.J. Jacobs -- One Man's Quest To Be The Smartest Man In The World, seems quite interesting so far. Crystal bought Seventeen, haha. "How to flirt effectively~"
  • Stood outside Z Zegna to watch the show. It's nice how AJ, Jakob H., Jonas K. and the most important of all, Crystal Tee can brighten up my day so effectively :) Crystal suggested I buy Zegna pants for my hypothetical ang moh boyfriend with a hole in his pants.
  • My grandma taught me how to fold up my school uniform today (I've been struggling with the stupid pleat at the back of the blouse since PE lessons started ):

Hello world, friends and stalkers/creepers. No, no, this isn't Belinda posting. This is actually her beloved little sister Bernice. Now, as we all know, Belinda is an extremely eligible young lady. She is very well-rounded, excelling in academics, co-cirricular activities and inter-personal relationships. Although foul-mouthed at times (e.g. she often tells me "FUCK YOU MOTHERFUCKER!"), she is arguably still beautiful both inside and out.

I am sure that there are many random creepy people out there crying into their pillows every night, devastated that she, what with her exasperating - albeit adorable - obliviousness, does not notice them at all. As such, I have, very ingeniously, come up with the perfect plan for all you creepers to express your love for Belinda and make her cognizant of your exsistence! Jump for joy! Oh, happy day!

My proposal is simple, straightforward, effective, and relatively fuss-free. I propose...

ARC Pathlight Sports Camp

Basically spent the whole of Monday and Tuesday at the camp, and I had so much fun! We went to Pasir Ris Park on Monday, went for a short trail and then the kids played at the playground. We were in charge of some flying-fox-like zipline thing, which was quite tiring. Ate lunch at a void deck near the swimming complex at Ang Mo Kio, then it rained ): But it stopped in time for us to play in the pool! The pool was the best/funniest -- Sean asking Sophia whether or not he could draw on her torso, and why she was crying; Sherman playing the "kiss virus" game where he attempted to kiss every male (!) volunteer and a lot of splashing of water. :) Walked back to Pathlight, then went for dinner at J8 with the other volunteers.

Went for lunch with Tak Wei, Jerald and Sophia before going to Pathlight on Tuesday, where we went to Labrador Park to play sports (mini golf, frisbee, football and skate scooter), cooked outdoors and had a night trail. The kids were amazing fun and I really really enjoyed interacting and playing with them. (There was this one kid who could tell us what day October 22, 2010 fell on, which was incredibly impressive.) The other people in my group were also really great to work with :) Basically it was about as much fun as I've ever had doing service learning.

Modesto's

Yiling seems to think I'm getting increasingly paranoid after starting to study at Raffles. Although I beg to differ, I still feel that it's safer to err on the side of caution especially considering you can get white slips if you get caught doing something against the school rules. She told me that after I bugged her repeatedly about whether or not I could leave school and come back for tutorials after 12.30p.m.

Considering we were, for the first time in the term, let out late for GP, Brenda Goh had to wait about two and a half hours for us at Bishan library since VJC declared Friday a full day off due to good A Level results. She also got her phone, wallet and camera stolen ): So we went to the police post to make a report (first time I've ever been in a police post). While we were there there was this old man who came in to return an ez-link card he found on the ground, and he didn't mind that he had to wait for us to finish filing the report. People like him give me hope :)

Proceeded to Cafe Cartel, where I decided to eat a brownie. Bought Brenda G lunch as well, and I'm only accepting payment in the form of another lunch! >:) I had to go back to school for Math tutorial and Yiling had her French lesson, so we left Brenda alone ): I did pass her my phone though, just so she would be contactable. I felt naked without it, so I stole Yiling's watch. I am obviously too attached to my phone.

Rushed back down to Bishan library when Math tutorial ended, after singing a birthday song for Joshua and waiting for the Chemistry worksheets to arrive. Ahmed was pretending to be Yin Leng and started cheering for more stuff to mug, it was hilarious x.x Although I felt bad for leaving Brenda G alone for so long ): But it's times like these you know who your real friends really are -- the people who will wait for you for hours to finish your lessons and who think your company takes precedent over the bad stuff that happens.

Since J8 is about the most boring shopping centre ever, Brenda G and I proceeded to Vivo to wait for Yiling. (I happened to forget my ez-link card since I left it in my other pouch, so I had to pay $1.10 to travel from Marymount to Bishan. 3 times. And $1.80 to get from Bishan to HarbourFront. I don't understand the pricing of the tickets x.x I should always remember my ez-link card.) Spent the time reading Percy Jackson, looking through magazines and flipping through this book called "How to make everyone like you". Some of the pointers were interesting, such as eye contact, smiling and phrasing sentences from someone else's point of view, but some I felt were plain elitist, such as extending your friendship to someone who may be less well-liked so that they will feel better about themselves, and make friends with the physically disabled to learn more about them to broaden your perspective. Umm...

After Yiling arrived we proceeded to Modesto's for dinner. I had the seafood pasta, Brenda G had the mushroom ravioli and Yiling had some black ink pasta with scallop. I don't think I've enjoyed Italian food as much in a long time x.x The tiramisu was great as well :) Brenda G says it's partly because of the company, and I completely agree. I don't think I would have enjoyed the food as much with if I had shared it with people I didn't like as much.

I am really really glad we're still meeting up and catching up with each other. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have my friends. I have to stifle my laughter when I read Crystal's smses in lectures, I am positive the people around me think I'm either 1) reading love notes from my boyfriend or 2) crazy. And since people don't snicker when they read love notes from their boyfriends... I love that she still can make me laugh even when we're in different parts of the country :)

If I didn't have Yiling to talk to in the morning (and at all other times) I would feel very lost and intimiated in RI. I have also now been able to persuade her to love HMV as much as I do, which is awesome because everyone needs a CD-shopping buddy, or just a shopping buddy in general. :) Brenda's perspective on things is entirely unique and she really listens to you when you talk, which makes you realise that she cares enough about you to listen to all your problems, be it trivial or bothersome. And Abii is still the only person I know who can express the appropriate enthusiasm for Christian Bale wallpapers. (DO THEY NOT HAVE EYES? ;)

Joy says that hanging out with my SN friends will make things worse (by things she means my friend situation in school), but I think it's actually a pretty good gauge of how I feel in RI. The first meeting we had after we started school I was incredibly sand reluctant to part ways at the end of the night, but now I'm just really thankful that we had the chance to spend the evening together to catch up and make sure that we're still part of each other's lives. The situation in school is still far from ideal, but at least I know it's getting better. It'll get harder and harder to balance between both sets of friends (it really is quite easy now, since there's no competition at all), but I really am hopeful that I'll manage it.

SN :)

Went back to SN during protected time in my RI uniform, I have never ever felt so awkward in SN before. I am only beginning to comprehend exactly how comfortable I was in SN, I still feel awkward walking around alone in the RI campus. I realise I miss a lot of things about SN -- singing the school song and saying the school pledge in the morning, saying the national pledge in Chinese, even the prayers (despite not being Catholic), rushing for orange bowl when Mrs Ong releases us 5 minutes early from Physics, school coffee, wearing the pinafore, not caring how I sit, being able to proclaim my love for random hot men without feeling that I may be judged, amongst others.

I might or might not also miss classroom lessons and studying for the O Levels. Looking back, the 1/4 Bio book + 1/4 Physics book tests on the same day occurrence doesn't seem as horrible anymore. I don't find studying fun, and I don't find reading the same thing and doing the same type of question stimulating after 10 times, but it really is okay if you go through it with a great group of friends around you.

Most of the 4 Grace/RI contingent got the chance to speak to Mrs Yeo, (a rarity considering she had lessons right after assembly) and we all miss her Math lessons now that we have to suffer through the lecture style of teaching. Brander asked her to go to RI to teach, and she said she's had many requests to go to the various JCs to teach Math from her students. She is that good x.x It was also nice to talk to Ms Law, whose perspective on things is refreshing. (I am going to start reading The Economist and I'm going to try be more curious and proactive.) We also got to say goodbye to Mrs Goh, who really is an inspiration. Writing in every single person's report books, "When SN is at her best, no one comes close", and many many other instances of support and inspiration. I don't think SN will be the same without her. I certainly don't think my school experience would have been the same without Mrs Goh.

I also saw the love of my life, a certain Brothers & Sisters actor lookalike... ;) Plus we got a good for our PI during PW. FUCK YEAH! And I really really really really love Linguistics so far. Right now it's the only subject I feel an interest to read up about outside of the curriculum.
